Montana Summer Program At the University of Montana
Program Summary:
Morning Classes:
Times: 8:40 - 10:00 and 10:10 - 11:30
The two 80 minute morning classes are Useful Communication and Popular Culture. In Useful Communication students will quickly improve their speaking skills by practicing conversation, pronunciation, and phonics with their teacher. Students will also learn about popular culture in class through multi-media presentations and interaction with their Popular Culture teacher. Some of the topics covered in Popular Culture class will include: style and fashion, health and fitness, popular music, movies and TV, politics and current events, education, environment and travel.
Afternoon Workshops:
Times: 12:40 - 2:00 and 2:10 - 3:30
The two 50 minute afternoon workshops will teach students art (painting, water colors, drawing), dance (modern and hip hop), singing (American songs) and drama.
Activities:
Program activities include: a dance party with American students; visiting a seniors’ residence; hiking; visiting a ranch; visiting Flathead Lake; visiting a water park; bowling; visiting a fire station, police station and court house; watching a baseball game; meeting with American teenagers; and, of course, lots of shopping!
